I didn't even have to look past Victoria Street in Richmond to realise it was in abundance of authentic and budget Vietnamese restaurants. Urbanspoon showed me that this had a very high rating for most other Vietnamese soup shops in the area so I gave this a try.
Though not familiar with phos, I am always looking forward to trying something new and found the experience cheap but tasty, rather than nasty. The place is quite new with nice, trendy decor. It was full at 2pm!
The pho was very filling. According to when I went, the small phos were $8*, medium phos were $9* and large phos were $10*. I had a medium with the chicken and beef soup. A perfect mix! The nice thing is there are plenty of extras on the table that you can add to your meal. This includes a plate with herbs and bean shoots, and jars of chilli and onions. I loaded mine with chillies until I was panting at my table, definitely worth it though.
Phos were brought out fairly quickly, 10 minutes, maybe even less. They also supply hot tea which is definitely a nice alternative to water upon arrival. I think the good thing about phos is that they are not typically spicy so nearly anyone can enjoy them.
